The Yoga is going well. I have only done four days of Yoga because I am not doing it on the weekend, but I have already noticed a difference in my flexibility and my ability to complete the workout. The first day I definitely didn't finish the full boat pose. Which is essentially balancing on the tailbone with the legs and torso lifted off of the ground. Which today I was able to complete. I still shake like crazy, but that is ok. The lady in the video shakes a little bit too.
I have started doing a little too much I think. I wanted to work out daily during the week and take the weekends off. But I am starting to think that is too much. I am not sore, but I am extremely tired when I finish my work day. Also, I have been having trouble getting motivated to do anything around the house in the evening. So what I might go to is two runs during the week and two strength training exercises while continuing to take the weekends off. Luckily, this wasn't part of the 30 day challenge and so I feel fine about modifying it. I am still going to do Yoga every morning. It is low-impact enough that I feel like I can do it every morning without injuring myself. And the point is to make it a habit. Yoga every morning.
I asked one of my friends at work about helping me with some ideas for workouts that I could do. I have been thinking about doing a tough mudder in the fall. I downloaded the workout recommended for that event and have been using it as my strength training day. But that is still 8 months away and I didn't want to get burnt out. My friend got really excited and started talking to me about CrossFit. Which I guess is what he has been doing for years. He gave me a website to check out and asked if I wanted to work out with him. I said yes and we went to the gym the other day. It was a really good workout. I am not sure that I am a convert, but I will keep trying it. Check out the website...http://www.crossfit.com/
